The North Hollywood High School Instrumental Music Department’s Final Concert of the year is this Friday, June 1st at 7:00pm in the auditorium. The concert features the award-winning Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra. Both groups are playing selections from Gustav Holst’s Planets with guest artist Jay Gehringer. In keeping with the space theme the orchestra is premiering a new work, Voyager, inspired by the Voyager spacecrafts. Additionally, the band is playing the overture from Candide to commemorate the centennial of Leonard Bernstein’s birth and the orchestra is playing Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain. Come support the band and orchestra in their final concert of the year! Admission is $5 at the door.
