Saturday, April 22- After a grueling 7 hours of APUSH and AP Lang, Vector made its way over to Kennedy where painting was in full swing. An army of painters from NBCUniversal had descended upon the school to coat the cold, industrial white walls of Kennedy with fresh warpaint: college decals, huskies, blue polygons, and quotes, covering the once plain halls with a vibrant display of school spirit. The painters are there for Comcast Cares Day, which volunteer Tracy Cohen explains, is an “annual event at NBCUniversal to celebrate [their] year long commitment to service.” Every year, volunteers visit schools near the studio, in Universal City, to revitalize campuses and surprise students on Monday morning. In Partnership with City Year, nearly 450 volunteers showed up to spruce up our campus and work with Principal Rosales to identify what would be inspiring to our students. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our school look fantastic this weekend!
