Cyber!
With a major event involving cheerleaders, dance team, and the band, we sent our three nationals-bound Cyber Patriot teams off with a bang on live television. Our teams make up three of the twelve of national finalists in the open division.
Our patriots are extremely excited to represent our school in their first nationals. Team Togo, the highest ranking team at North Hollywood, cannot contain their excitement. In an exclusive interwiew, team member Aled Cuda told Vector "this is our third year and we have been working towards this for a very long time. We are very very excited."
Our nationals-bound teams aren't just making us proud for their excellence in skills, but doing so while battling gender stereotypes. In a male-dominated field, it's great to see three girls heading to nationals. Jillian Kusch of Team Truman says even though she knows of prejudices women face in the tech industry, in the open environment of North Hollywood, she is treated as an equal. She says "if you happen to be a female so be it, but it's more important that you're talented." Perhaps these are the words of the future as the number of women in science and technology continued to increase.
